Getting Ready for Christmas

Can you believe that Christmas is next month! My girls remind me just about everyday that it is! When Erica was born I started a tradition of buying her a Lenox ornament every year, writing a little message in it, and saving it for her for when she is married. My plan was for her to have decorations for her first married Christmas. I have also done this since Olivia's birth. In my mind, they would have at least 25 years of ornaments saved....let's hope! I have to say, I have revamped that tradition. Starting this year, we are going to make our ornament every year. My plan is to make this with the girls and capture on film, so one of these years I can scrapbook the memories, and they'll still have that ornament to place on their tree. This year, this is the ornament we are going to make. It is really easy to do. I purchased the ornament - just a plain ceramic ornament and stamped it with the Stampin Up Real Red Craft Ink. The Craft Ink is like paint in stamp pad. It stays wet a long time, which in this case is perfect because it allowed me to sprinkle some Irridecent Ice Embossing Powder on it. I then heated it with my Stampin Up heating tool. I did this project with the ladies in my Stamp Club and the LOVED it. It is really easy. Hope you love making it too!
