Deer are Everywhere!

Deer are everywhere, aren't they! Well, they are here in WV! If they all looked like this, it'd be ok!

This little guy is a play off of the post from a few days ago with the Dum Dum suckers (again, not your husband!) :)

All the elements used for that project are the same for this, but instead, place a pin back to it, and wahla! you have a festive little pin for the Christmas season.

Merry Christmas!

All Snugged Up....:)

Isn't this the cutest! What a great little gift to give kids, or adults or party favors...the ideas are endless!

All the makings of a cup of hot chocolate for a cold winter's day when you're all snugged up with 12 inches of snow outside - I know, I'm dreaming....12 inches of snow or not, we're homeschooling, so now I'm jolted awake....

Use this creative idea for add-on's for gifting this season!

Merry Christmas!

This card was one of the trades we received at the Kentucky Regionals...isn't it pretty! The label of the person that made this came off, so if you know her, post her name so she can get credit for this lovely card!

Can't afford diamonds...so this is the next best thing!

I love Christmas...LOVE IT....and I also love glitter....I've even seen glitter wall paper JUST LIKE this glitter paper from Stampin Up, but the when I saw the wallpaper was $6000 per roll, I decided I could do it cheaper through SU... :) But that's another project... :)

So meanwhile, I will live vicariously through SU and use their BEAUTIFUL glitter paper on every card I can get my hands on. This is a card we did in our November class and everyone equally loved the glitter paper as much as I did!

The paper is Cherry Cobbler (#119685)
Embossing Folder "Stripes" (#123128)
Glimmer Paper (Holiday Mini #124005)
Stitched Stockings Stamp Set (Holiday Mini #123784)
Stitched Stocking Builder Punch (this punch matches the stamp set...how cool is that! #124095)

Merry Christmas!

This BEAUTIFUL card was created by my friend and fellow demonstrator Bev Joplin. She's ONE TALENTED LADY, and a wonderful person!

I love how she wrapped the red taffeta ribbon (#119251) around the die cut image. The scallop die is from the Perfect Pennant die (#123126) and the little snowflake resting on top is from the awesome Northern Frost Decorative Strip die (#120901) and finally the beautiful embossed background is from the Northern Flurry embossing folder (#120902).

Maybe this could be one of your Christmas cards...thanks Bev!

Stampin' Up My Digital Studio

I LOVE digital scrapbooking. I was introduced to it in a round about way several years ago when I did the yearbook for Heritage Christian Academy. I loved how I could take a picture and make it any size I wanted...any! I tried to fit as many students pics in the yearbook as I could...packed full of fun. Stampin Up has a product called, MY DIGITAL STUDIO. It. Is. Wonderful. All the AWESOME products that are in the Stampin Up catalog is now in digital format. All the stamp sets can be sized and resized to fit on the page. The page displayed here was made with the My Digital Studio software. I made a complete album of the "girls only" trip to the beach. See the buttons and bows, and ribbon? It's all digital and SO easy to use. You can click here to see the complete album of our fun, and click here to order your own and get started. Happy Birthday to my Olivia today...age 8!

Not Just For Papercrafting!

Stampin Up has ventured into the textiles market and it has really been great! I AM NOT A SEAMSTRESS! In fact, buttons are about the only thing I can do with a needle and thread! BUT....with the Big Shot, all things are possible! :) The dress and the purse in these pictures have a flower, cut from Stampin Up's Sizzix Big Shot. You put the flower through machine, and wa-la! You have a flower! The place mat is made from the Pennant Die Cut. The possibilities are endless! Click here https://picasaweb.google.com/rhondamcc/BigShotToteBag# to see the tote bag the girls and I (and Perry!) made....and NO SEWING involved! Just the Big Shot.

What Can You Do With Paper?

I have never had the privilege to attend an SU convention, but my wonderful Upline, Brenda Witt, always provides me with the great pics she takes while she's there. As you know, cupcakes are the "in" thing right now, and the entire place was decorated in a sweet theme, but the cool thing was, is that it was ALL made from paper.
I'm thinking that these are made by wrapping fan folded cardstock around a styrofoam ball, and the top is made from the circle punch and buttons. I LOVE how some are glittered! Really cool! Have a great Saturday and I hope you get to craft today!

Isn't this LOVELY...

My Aunt Dottie is a card making machine....that woman would rather make cards than do anything....but aren't we all like that!?

She really has a knack for creating beautiful and thoughtful cards. This is one of the bizzillion cards she made for Christmas. See, I'm a production card maker - I chose a design, and make a billion of them - she is not. She loves to make her Christmas cards, but she does many different designs - so you're pretty much guaranteed that you will not receive the same card as me. She's such a jewel, and I really love being able to make memories with my Aunt Patty, and mom and Aunt Dottie.

With this card she used the "Lovely As a Tree" stamp set and the "Weathered" background. It is so much more glimmery in person...my family is all about the bling! :)

I am kicking myself because I didn't take more pictures of the EXTREMELY talented scrapbookers and their projects. These girls don't mess around - they have it all and use it all when they create - especially the glitter and stickles! Here are some other pics you may enjoy.....

Ya know, my blog is called "SMILE AND STAMP"....of course you know that - you're reading it! I want to focus on the 'SMILE' part today. Here's what makes me smile.

1. a kiss from the girls
2. a glance from Perry. the kind that makes me melt...still
3. snow
4.the relationship I have with my in-laws, AND the smell of my their house... she ALWAYS has something good cooking there!
5. the laughter at the flower shop (Evergreen).
6. dinner at my mom's on Wednesday before church
7. the memories my kids are making with their grandparents...spending the night, times in the mountains, trips to the beach...it's all good, because one day the memories will have to stop.
8. that after all these years, I still REALLY love him....REALLY!
9. the girls have their moments of bickering...but more often than not they are laughing with each other - and I love that.
10. that Jesus, in all my wretchedness, loves me...he's fond of me...and I can go to his throne of grace and mercy each day, and he welcomes me....THAT REALLY MAKES ME SMILE :)

WHAT MAKES YOU SMILE...write it down....then give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!

Christmas

Well, we made it back home. Canaan Valley was soooo pretty this weekend. It is the perfect place to be when it snows. The trees just hang with snow and God beauty is seen everywhere. We stayed in Friday and mom and I created some BEAUTIFUL tiles. I will post them when she returns them...:) but they really are a must see. All the girls did venture out Saturday and went to an auction...let's just say that a toothpick would not have fit in the van. We got our Christmas shopping done there! It was a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. It's good to be home, but the memory of the snow still lingers as I look at this yucky ole' rain! Anyway..onto the important stuff!

Isn't this card lovely? This card uses real red and old olive cardstock. The ornament was made with the new ornament punch, then embossed with the Big Shot and Petals a Plenty embossing folder. The swirl was also made with Big Shot and the Swirl die. What finished it off is the little hint of cord that holds the ribbon up. Have a great day!

Friday, November 27, 2009

This is what we woke up too this morning in Canaan Valley WV. It is beautiful up here and we have about 3 ins of snow. I am having fun with the family while making memories. Stay tuned for later posts of beautiful tiles.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am so blessed and have so much to be thankful for. What am I most thankful for? The fact that Christ, knowing my sin, chose to die and sacrifice himself for me, so that I could have eternal life with him. I am the wretch the song speaks of, and He loves me, in spite of me. He died for you too - accept him as your Savior, and you will know a peace that can't be put into words. Happy Thanksgiving!

Isn't this little guy cute! Just a few punches and you'll have him. Here's how to do it. To make the turkey, you need to punch 1" & a 1 3/8" circles for the body. For the feathers, I used the small oval punch in Ruby Red, More Mustard, Really Rust & Chocolate Chip. The feet & beak are Mustard - feet - Boho Blossoms punch; beak - 5 Petal Flower punch trimmed a bit narrow. What a cute embellishment for a scrapbook page or card! Have a great day and God Bless!

Build A Bear

Don't you just LOVE Build A Bear! I must confess, I do, which is shocking because I really dislike "stuffed animals." The inventor of Build A Bear was very consumer savvy because they knew that if they put a personality with their stuffed toys, that people, even people that disliked stuffed animals, would love their product...it worked!

Stampin Up has teamed up with the Build A Bear company! Stampin Up has some WONDERFUL new die cuts and stamp sets that will coordinate with the Build A Bear party or theme you want to accomplish! It is a wonderful thing and they are soooo cute! Check out the Stampin Up web site HERE and have fun shopping!
